While all of Paris is romantic, Montmartre is truly the omantic Parisian spot par excellence. With several spots for lovers. A stroll around Place du Tertre, among the painters, to have your portrait taken, why not. A kiss exchanged at the bottom of the basilica steps with a magnificent view of all Parissince Montmartre is its highest point (only 126 meters high, let's not get carried away!). In Montmartre, there's also the "mur des je t'aime"the work of Frédéric Baron and Claire Kito, which consists of a 40 M2 wall of blue earthenware on which is written je t'aime 311 times in 250 different languages. You'll easily find a typical little restaurant for a never-ending love dialogue;

The Eiffel Tower twinkling at night and seeming to sparkle with joy as it sees your couple pass by is still a beautiful moment isn't it? Nothing's more romantic than a souvenir of a trip to Paris posing in front of the Eiffel Tower. You can do it from the Palais du Trocadéro (it's crowded, but we always manage to cheat to make it look like there weren't many of us), from the bottom of the Eiffel Tower, or even from the top, with a magnificent view of Paris, especially in the evening. In fact, this is where I recommend THE kiss in love that will remain engraved in your memories. Don't forget to take your stroll along the Champs de Mars and go as far as the military school, it's less crowded and you'll get an equally magnificent view of the Eiffel Tower.

3 Place Vendôme: Lux and Love

It's one of the most beautiful squares in Paris and it's terribly romantic: the Place Vendôme.A walk by night is just a magnificent love poem. Around you, there are the greatest French jewelers (beware this is a coup to ruin you in the engagement ring!) and, if you have the means, there's the Ritz and its cosy yet splendid bar. You can also push on further to the Place de la Concorde, which is just as romantic.The Tuileries Gardens, which will take you to the Louvre, are not far away. A quick photo under the arc de triomphe du carroussel du Louvre (the triumphal arch) with the pyramid in the background will also be an excellent souvenir.

What could be more romantic than a stroll down the world's most beautiful avenuee (not the longest, but nearly 2 km long all the same!). You can, of course, take the photo at the bottom of the avenue, at Concorde level, with the Arc de Triomphe emerging in the distance (it'll be slightly higher than you)  and then turn your back on the avenue and head off in the opposite direction towards Concorde, or, better still, to the Grand Palais which lends itself wonderfully to a romantic kiss in front of its Art Nouveau facade. You can also walk up the whole avenue and reach the Arc de Triomphe. "Les champs" as Parisians say is also a discovery as you can see so many boutiques, private mansions (the Hôtel de la Paéva is worth a look). There are restaurants on the Champs-Elysées (including fast-food outlets), some very famous places to have a drink like Fouquet's, but you can also find good eateries in the streets around the Champs-Elysées, so don't hesitate to poke around rue Bassano. The palaces are in the area with, for example, the Georges V (the bar is affordable and very nice).

Notre Dame de Paris has been the icon of Paris for at least 7 centuries, so it's a symbol of what lasts over time. There's nothing like a romantic stroll along the forecourt or through the gardens (on the opposite side). You can also look down on Notre Dame and the Seine fromthe Pont-neuf and push on, further on, towards the Louvre. The best place to declare your love and take a photo is the Square du Vert Galant at the foot of the statue of Henri IV (who knew a thing or two about love, having had so many mistresses!). Also worth a visit is the less-frequented Ile Saint Louis, full of beautiful buildings. Last but not least, the quays of the Seine are a must for discovering Paris and its very special atmosphere;

It's the most beautiful garden in Paris. It belongs to the Senate, which takes great care of it. The Luxembourg Gardens surround the palace of the same name where the Upper Assembly (the Senate) sits. In the park, you can chat, stroll, sit (the iron chairs are typical of the place) and the most romantic spot is the Médicis fountain. it has to be said that the place was created by the will of Queen Marie de Médicis (who knew nothing about love, by the way). If you like flowers, there's of course the Tuileries garden, which is an extension of the Louvre, but there's also the magnificent Parc de Buttes-Chaumont (with its belvedere offering a magnificent view of Paris and the perfect setting for a lover's kiss). The Jardin des Plantes is also well worth a visit;

Le Marais is the heart of Paris, its oldest district since it largely escaped Baron Haussmann's 19th-century works. Around the Place des Vosges, behind the Hôtel de Ville, you can wander through typical streets and soak up Paris. It's also the French capital's historic LGBT district. Enjoy a romantic drink on the Rue des Archives, take a stroll down Rue Montorgueil for pastries, visit Beaubourg / Pompidou... The Marais is also full of beautiful private mansions if you love heritage and want to immerse yourself in 17th-century Paris.

It's romantic to watch the water flow, sometimes without speaking, when you're in love. From a bridge, for example. And, when it comes to bridges, Paris has many, and some very romantic ones. The best known for lovers is the Pont des Arts, quai Conti. it leads to the Académie Française. It was long known for the padlocks that lovers used to put on it, but these have since been removed for safety. There's also the pont-neuf, near Notre Dame, and thebeautiful pont Alexandre III with its gilding. Personally, I'm partial to theBir-hakeim Bridge, with its sculpted cast-iron columns and Eiffel Tower in the background;

9 A trip on a bâteau mouche: love travels in Paris

You can also cruise the Seine as a couple. And there's nothing more romantic than a dinner for two on one of the famous bâteaux-mouche, the boats that let you admire Paris from the river and, often, allow you to dine. If you want to be thrifty, don't hesitate to takethe Bateau-bus, which will give you the same ride (without the glass, of course!) and let you stop wherever you like.

An island, all in length, with a tiny garden, the Statue of Liberty (a reminder that the statue of New York was born here) barges passing by, the Eiffel Tower not far away.... It couldn't be more romantic and totally free than Swan Island. Why not enjoy a romantic picnic?
