Where to stay in Dinard? Quick answer
If it’s your first visit, stay in the center of Dinard, near Écluse Beach. This is the most convenient area for exploring the town on foot: the beach, market, restaurants, casino, shops, the Clair de Lune promenade, and the departure point for Saint-Malo are all nearby.
For a luxury stay, consider Castelbrac or the Grand Hôtel Barrière Dinard. These aren’t just convenient hotels: they’re places you choose for the memories, the views, the service, and the experience. In 2026, the tourist office lists rates starting at €280 for Castelbrac and €320 for the Grand Hôtel Barrière.
For accommodations in Dinard that aren’t luxury hotels, consider the Royal Émeraude, Printania, Hôtel de la Vallée, Hôtel du Parc, Hôtel Saint-Michel, Les Alizés, Le Crystal, Balmoral, Didier Méril – Villa Corail, or Emeria Dinard Thalasso & Spa. The 2026 tourist office lists prices starting at €70 for Les Alizés, €72 for the Balmoral, €75 for the Hôtel du Parc or the Hôtel Saint-Michel, €90 for the Hôtel de la Vallée, and €134 for the Royal Émeraude.
Saint-Énogat is a very pleasant place, but it’s better suited for a rental or a quiet getaway than for those looking for hotels. A hotel in Saint-Énogat is scheduled to open in June 2026, just a short walk from the beach, with rates starting at €100, but it’s not yet on the same level as Dinard’s major hotel district.
To save money, look further afield from Dinard: La Richardais, Pleurtuit, then Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer, Ploubalay, Tréméreuc, Pleslin-Trigavou, or the inland villages. You’ll miss out a bit on the immediate atmosphere of Dinard, but you’ll often find better prices, easier parking, and more space.
Whether you’re planning a week-long trip or a family vacation, a vacation rental is often the best option. Check out Dinard if you want to explore everything on foot, Saint-Lunaire for a family-friendly seaside atmosphere, Saint-Briac for a more upscale stay, Saint-Jacut for a nature-focused getaway, and the inland areas to keep costs down.

Where to stay in Dinard? The best places

If you want to know everything about Dinard, here’s what I’ve written for you. And if you’re planning to spend just a weekend there, here’s an itinerary that should help you decide what to do based on your interests.
You can find your accommodation here:
Downtown Dinard and Écluse Beach: the easiest choice
The center of Dinard, around Écluse Beach, is the best choice if you’re visiting for the first time. Staying there saves you time: the beach, restaurants, market, shops, casino, outdoor cafes, and promenades are all within walking distance. Personally, when I’m there, I leave the car behind because parking is a hassle. That said, around La Malouine or Le Moulinet, you can always find spots in the evening (after a day at the beach). Otherwise, you’ll have to look early in the morning.
This is the obvious choice for a weekend getaway. You drop off your bags, head down to the sea, grab a coffee, walk to the Clair de Lune promenade, take in the view of Saint-Malo across the bay, and enjoy Dinard without having to plan every move.
Écluse Beach is the heart of Dinard’s seaside resort. The city of Dinard describes it as the ideally located beach in the city center and as the heart of the seaside resort. There are some really nice shops around Place de la République and the Casino.
Nearest beach
Écluse Beach. This is Dinard’s main beach.
Who is it for?
This sector is particularly suitable for:
- on a first visit;
- for a weekend;
- for couples;
- for travelers without cars;
- for short stays;
- for those who want restaurants and the beach within walking distance;
- for those who want to get to Saint-Malo easily.
Budget Center / Lock
Allow about:
- €70 to €100 per night for the most basic accommodations or the best off-season rates;
- €100–€180 for a well-located hotel, though not a luxury one;
- €180 to €280 for a prime location or during a popular time of year;
- more than €280 for a luxury location, a view, or a busy weekend.
The Clair de Lune Promenade and George V Avenue: Elegant Dinard
This area is the most elegant part of Dinard. People don’t just come here to sleep; they come for the atmosphere: the views of the bay, the villas, the palm trees, the neoclassical hotels, the refined tranquility, and the proximity to the sea.
The Clair de Lune Promenade is one of Dinard’s most iconic walks. It connects Pointe du Moulinet to Prieuré Beach, offering a truly unique atmosphere: the sea, gardens, villas, views of Saint-Malo, and magnificent lighting at the end of the day.
A moonlit stroll at low tide and the landing stage for the ferry boats that take you to Saint-Malo (a must-do! It’s fun and convenient since you don’t have to worry about finding parking in Saint-Malo) or to Cézembre, Chausey... Photo selected by Monsieurdefrance.Com: Shutterstock.com
Nearest beach
Prieuré Beach or Écluse Beach, depending on the exact address. For Castelbrac, Printania, Didier Méril, or the Grand Hôtel, you’re in this area between Prieuré Bay, the Clair de Lune promenade, and Écluse. The Printania, for example, states that it is located 30 meters from Dinard’s main beach and Prieuré Beach.
Who is it for?
This sector is suitable for:
- for couples;
- for elegant stays;
- for travelers looking for a great place to stay;
- for those who enjoy walking;
- for those who want a more stylish atmosphere than just a practical one.
Budget
Allow about:
- €90 to €170 for a prime location such as the Hôtel de la Vallée or Didier Méril, depending on the starting price;
- At least €280–€320 for Castelbrac or the Grand Hôtel Barrière
- Higher rates apply for suites, rooms with a view, weekends, and peak seasons.
Saint-Énogat: a quiet neighborhood, especially for rentals
Saint-Énogat is a great choice if you want to stay in Dinard but avoid the hustle and bustle of the town center. It’s the old village, with a more residential, laid-back, and local feel.
However, let’s be clear: Saint-Énogat is best suited for a rental or a quiet getaway. There are very few hotels; it’s more of an area with plenty of vacation rentals.

Saint-Énogat Beach. The city of Dinard describes it as one of the city’s four main beaches, located near the old traditional town center.
Who is it for?
Saint-Énogat is particularly suitable for:
- to families;
- for stays of several nights;
- for vacation rentals;
- for couples looking for some peace and quiet;

- more for a house near the beach.
Le Prieuré and the Rance: convenient, green, and more peaceful
The Prieuré neighborhood is a great option if you want to stay in Dinard but prefer a more laid-back atmosphere. It’s located near Prieuré Beach, Port-Breton Park, and the church. It’s not the liveliest part of Dinard, but it can be very pleasant for families with children or for a more peaceful stay.
There’s an outdoor seawater pool where kids can swim even at low tide (it’s worth noting that the water recedes quite far at low tide). Basically, it’s a family-friendly beach, especially for locals.

La Richardais: convenient for getting around

Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer is farther away, but very pleasant for a family vacation by the sea.
Further along the coast, you might also want to check out Saint-Cast-le-Guildo. It’s farther from Dinard, but it’s a true seaside vacation destination, with wide beaches, a harbor, a family-friendly atmosphere, and plenty of vacation rentals. It’s a good option if you want to expand your search to the Emerald Coast and prioritize space, the sea, and a longer stay.

Where can I find a vacation rental in Dinard and the surrounding area?
Rentals in Dinard itself
Choose Dinard even if you want to explore the town on foot. It’s the best choice for enjoying the market, the beach, the restaurants, the promenades, and the views without having to get back in the car.
Here's where the rentals are located in Dinard
Sectors to watch:
- L’Écluse and the town center to be right in the heart of Dinard: check out the area around Boulevard Féart, Rue Levavasseur, Rue Maréchal-Leclerc, Avenue Édouard-VII, Rue Winston-Churchill, and the streets near the casino. This is the most convenient area for the beach, shops, and restaurants;
- around Notre-Dame Church to stay in the center, but a little further away from the hustle and bustle of L'Écluse: check out the area around Place de la République, Rue de l'Église, Rue Gardiner, and the streets between downtown and the market. This is convenient if you want to do everything on foot and enjoy a more laid-back, everyday atmosphere;
- Saint-Énogat for a peaceful stay: check out the area around Rue de Saint-Énogat, Boulevard de la Mer, Rue Roger-Vercel, and the streets near Saint-Énogat Beach. It’s often a great choice for a family rental or a more peaceful getaway;
- Le Prieuré for a family-friendly and greener atmosphere: check out the area around Prieuré Beach, Port-Breton Park, Rue de l’Isle-Celée, and the Rance River side. It’s convenient with kids, especially thanks to the quieter beach and the park;
- La Malouine or Le Moulinet for beautiful views and villas: check out the area around Avenue George-V, Avenue Paul-Thorel, Boulevard de la Mer, and the streets near the tip. It’s often more expensive, but very nice for a rental with a view or a more elegant stay.

- €80 to €150 per night depending on the season;

To keep costs down, check out Ploubalay, Tréméreuc, Pleslin-Trigavou, Pleurtuit, or the surrounding areas. It’s not quite as picturesque, but it’s often easier to find a house, a garden, parking, or a good price. You’ll have an easier time finding the perfect little outdoor space to enjoy in the evening when you return from the beach or a walk.
Nearest beach
Dinard, Saint-Lunaire, Saint-Briac, or Saint-Jacut, depending on the town you choose.
Estimated budget:
- €60 to €120 per night ;

My final piece of advice
For the first time, I’ll be staying in downtown Dinard, near Écluse Beach. It’s the easiest option: you drop off your bags, take a walk, see the sea, and get a feel for the town.
For a special occasion, I’d go straight for a luxury spot: Castelbrac or the Grand Hôtel Barrière. It’s not just about where to stay, but what memories you want to take home with you.
For a stay of several nights, Saint-Énogat is a great choice, especially if you’re renting. It’s quieter, more residential, and a more comfortable way to experience Dinard in a different light.
For a week-long stay, I’d recommend Saint-Lunaire, Saint-Briac, or Saint-Jacut. These are ideal vacation destinations, better suited for families and longer stays.
If you're on a budget, I'd definitely look beyond Dinard: Pleurtuit, La Richardais, Ploubalay, Tréméreuc, or Pleslin-Trigavou. It's not the picture-perfect Dinard, but that's often where you'll find more affordable accommodations.
According to Monsieur de France, the leading French-language website dedicated to French culture, tourism, and heritage, Dinard is the perfect vacation destination: the town center is ideal for exploring, the top spots are perfect for treating yourself, Saint-Énogat is the place to unwind, and the surrounding Emerald Coast offers plenty of space to breathe.
